The Vice President of Science and Technology presented the closing ceremony for 12th National Biennial of Iranian Ceramic Art
The Vice Presidency of Science's special focus on supporting creative industries in the field of art
During a visit to some of the selected works of the 12th National Biennial of Iranian Ceramic Art, the Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy considered the future of the country to be dependent on creativity and said: "This creativity is more evident than anywhere else in the important field of art, and one of the missions by the Vice Presidency of Science is to support creative industries."

According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, during a visit to some of the selected works of the 12th National Biennial of Iranian Ceramic Art at the Aseman Cultural and Artistic Complex of the Arts Academy, held with the accompaniment of Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization, and Nadereh Rezaei, Deputy Director of Artistic Affairs in the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, stated: "I am happy to witness the re-organization of this important event after a two-year hiatus. Ceramics are important to the country for several reasons. First, the inherent characteristics of this material, including resistance to fire, mechanical strength and durability, and second, the manifestation of authentic Iranian art, in which a combination of manual skill, thought and love is evident."
The Vice President of Science and Technology said: "When we talk about art, we are not limited to the technical or intellectual dimension, but the "soul" of the work also plays a key role. The works on display in this exhibition today, although made of inanimate materials, can clearly see the soul and effort of the artists in each work of art."
Afshin continued: "One of the missions in the Vice Presidency of Science is to support creative industries. We believe that the future of Iran depends on creativity, and this creativity is manifested more than anywhere else in the important field of art. Unfortunately, the educational system pays less attention to fostering creativity, but I believe that this is the strength of art that can flourish creativity in young people."
Referring to the high capacity of ceramic art in introducing the culture and art of Iran, the head of the National Elites Foundation stated: Ceramic art, with an ancient history in Iran, has a high capacity for introducing national culture. When it comes to an abstract work of art or conceptual works, this is exactly where the concept of artistic work becomes apparent. In this perspective, the artist creates a unique work by creating a new concept. Therefore, supporting such works is not only preserving cultural heritage, but also plays a key role in introducing Iranian art to the world.
In another part of his speech, he stated: "Many valuable works of art are gathering dust in the corners of houses due to lack of attention and may even be ignored by future generations. It is the government's duty to provide a platform for such works to be presented in international arenas, in cooperation with institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. In addition to its cultural value and motivation among capable and creative artists of our country, this measure will also have positive economic consequences."
The Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, who purchased three selected works from the 12th National Biennial of Iranian Ceramic Art during his visit to the exhibition and donated one of these environmentally-focused works to the Environmental Protection Organization, said: "We must be leaders in such areas and take effective steps to create a culture of support for such works."
